Update and moving forward
Where it all happens!!!!
At Annaka's Paige, our core purpose is clear: to provide meaningful opportunities for young adults with disabilities to develop essential life skills, pursue independence, and define their own futures with dignity and purpose.
Founded in Anderson, South Carolina, our organization exists to fill critical gaps in support for this population. Many young adults with disabilities face barriers in transitioning from school-based services to adult life—barriers that include limited access to vocational training, independent living skills instruction, community integration programs, and ongoing mentorship. We address these challenges head-on through targeted, person-centered programming designed to promote self-determination and long-term success.
Our Approach We operate under a straightforward principle: every individual deserves the tools and support necessary to live as independently as possible. Our programs emphasize practical, real-world skills such as:
Daily living activities (budgeting, meal planning, personal care, household management)
Employment readiness (resume building, interview preparation, workplace etiquette, job retention strategies)
Community participation (transportation navigation, social engagement, civic involvement)
Self-advocacy (understanding rights, communicating needs, decision-making)
All activities are tailored to each participant's abilities, goals, and interests. We do not apply a one-size-fits-all model. Progress is measured by individual milestones, not arbitrary benchmarks.
Why This Work Matters Legally and Practically Under U.S. federal law—including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) transition provisions—individuals with disabilities have protected rights to equal opportunity, non-discrimination, and access to services that promote independence. Yet service gaps persist after age 21 in many communities. Annaka's Paige steps into that space as a nonprofit resource, operating in full compliance with applicable federal and South Carolina nonprofit regulations.
We maintain transparency in governance, financial stewardship, and program delivery. As a public charity, we prioritize tax-deductible donations that directly fund participant services (subject to current IRS rules under 26 U.S.C. § 501(c)(3)).
Looking Ahead In the coming months, we plan to expand our reach in the Anderson and Upstate South Carolina region through additional partnerships, volunteer opportunities, and increased program capacity. We remain committed to evidence-informed practices and continuous evaluation to ensure every dollar and hour invested creates measurable impact.
If you are a young adult with a disability, a family member, a potential partner organization, or someone who wants to support this mission, we invite you to connect. Visit our Get Involved page to learn about volunteering, donating, or referring participants.
Together, we build futures defined not by limitations, but by possibility.
Annaka's Paige is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated exclusively to empowering young adults with disabilities in South Carolina. All contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
