Oak Hill Drive: Silent Child, Loud Silence.
Tonight I brought my daughter to county hall and didn't say a word. Just held her hand, opened the iPad, let the pictures speak. Boulder crosswalks. Speed bumps. A blind hill where cars scream at forty-four. A green strip owned by a dead woman's trust. A disabled kid in a doctor's coat who wants milk at Ingles. The commissioners sat like stones. They knew better than to interrupt silence. When the last slide froze on Annaka's smile, I closed the screen. Said thanks. Walked out. They'll vote. I'll watch. If they pick traffic over a 23-year-old Little girl with Down Syndrome I'll build her a bridge. And I'll make them pay for it—one mile of steel stamped with her name. Watch this space.
